Iphone 5 comes with a fantastic 12.6 MP camera?

iPhone 5 camera

If you are like most of iPhone fans which eagerly wait for the release of the upcoming iPhone 5 you will be glad to hear this new rumor. Apple’s main camera supplier OmniVision which made the camera sensor in the back camera on iPhone 4 has made a new line of camera sensors sporting providing fantastic 12.6 MP. This sensor will also be able to record video at 1080p level of quality. The code name of the sensor is  OV 12825 and it will be used in the new series of Apples smartphones.

While OmniVision has already made the prototypes, the production will not start before June. So far no other company has announced use of this sensors in their products. We wrote previously about Apple’s intention on changing camera sensors supplier. There have been some rumors about Apple opting for Sony cameras for the iPhone 5 but perhaps due to problems in Japans high tech industry caused by the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami it could be that the iPhone 5 will have the OmniVision camera sensors. These are only rumors of course and only time will tell which option will play out for real. Anyway to have a iPhone with 2.6 MP cam? It would be more than delightful, in fact it is every iPhone users dream come trough. Imagine making underwater photos with your iPhone at this level of quality? It would be stunning! Is there some more exiting gadget than Apple’s iPhone? I seriously doubt so! Are you eagerly waiting for iPhone 5 like us? Let us know!
